Self-Driving Cars
Autonomous vehicles, or self-driving cars, like those made by Waymo and Tesla are able to navigate in the world with little to no human interference. Depending on the car, different methods are used to detect surroundings, from lidar to photographs; then an AI system determines what the best course of action to take is, based on the information it has gathered. While entirely autonomous cars do exist, they are not common on the road yet. However, once they become dominant, immeasurable time will be saved by people who no longer have to drive themselves. Instead of prepping for a meeting before you leave the office, you will be able to do it en route!
Space Transportation
It may sound counterintuitive, but travel through space could actually decrease the amount of time it could take to get from point A to point B. Many restrictions on travel time could be seriously reduced, saving companies money and resources, and opening up the ability to form greater international connections. With companies like SpaceX and Blue Origin already making great strides in this field, travelling through space to meet a client for a business meeting could be closer to happening than we think. This “out of this world” solution to long and exhausting flights with long layovers for work could be the next revolution in business travel.
Culinary Robotics
All jobs have menial, repetitive tasks. Things that you have to do frequently, and are performed the same way every time. Like filing paperwork at an office, for example, or generating business analytic reports. At a restaurant, prep work has to be done to get ready to make meals, and the overall goal is to make those meals the same every time in order to keep a solid customer base.
